Sainsbury’s Valentines Day 2018 – The Mix Up
We all know that Valentine’s Day is the perfect excuse to show that special person or pooch (yep pooch) in your life how much you care for them. As a nation of animal lovers, Brits spent a whopping £27 million on their pets for Valentine’s Day last year – that’s a hell of a lot of chew toys and squeaky mice. It was just this sort of loveable insight that Sainsbury’s needed to deliver a canine caper with some cut through.
Using this insight, our film documented loveable pup Barley’s tale of jealousy, revenge and forgiveness during a Valentine’s Day mix-up. The Sainsbury’s community joined Barley on an emotional rollercoaster and loved every second of it, with Google’s uplift study showing a 41.6% uplift in Ad Recall and a 4% lift in brand awareness.
